Shanghai Baolai Scientific Development Company, founded in 1998, is a private high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, production, and sales of didactic equipment for universities and vocational colleges. Originally the Shanghai office of Germany’s LD DIDACTIC GmbH, it remains LD’s exclusive production and collaborative research base in China.

The company’s products serve electrical and electronic engineering courses, offering modular training systems in fields such as electrical/electronic engineering, power electronics, motor drives, PLC, and automatic control. These systems emphasize hands-on learning to enhance students' practical engineering skills.

Baolai’s business includes domestic sales, exports to Europe, America, and Southeast Asia, and distribution of advanced international educational equipment. Since 2007, it has partnered with Siemens AG’s Education Department, supplying training systems for industrial automation.

Over 300 Chinese engineering colleges use Baolai’s products, including more than 80% of top-tier universities (985, 211, and Double First-Class programs). Renowned for quality and service, the company has earned strong customer feedback. For example, Tsinghua University’s electrical experiment benches, among the earliest installations, have operated flawlessly for over 20 years.
